Schoone Oordt has been lovingly restored by a creative art-loving couple from Cape Town who stumbled upon this ageing grand dame during a summers roadtrip and fell instantly in love. The couples hard work and painstaking attention to detail is reflected in every corner of this truly beautiful and charming country house, adorned with an original intricate ironwork balcony and blossoming country courtyard garden the property has been bought back to life in its full glory. This elegant home is filled with handpicked antiques complimenting a classically modern décor with muted earth tones to create a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. The emphasis is on unpretentious unaffected luxury, elegance, quality, love and acute attention to detail.
There’s a choice of ceremony venues on offer, suitable for both small ceremonies or for larger wedding parties and both are available for civil ceremonies and blessings. For weddings during the winter months the private boardroom with views of the mountains or the cosy informal dinning room in the grand house make the perfect wedding ceremony venues. During the summer months the secluded gardens offer the perfect setting, with the circular lawn providing an intimate encompassing location.
Treat your guests to petite innovative canapés on the lawn while you’re whisked away for photographs, sample spiced risotto dumplings, grilled prawns with wasabi mayo and Moroccan spiced lamb cutlets with a glass of award winning South African sparkling wine. As the sun sets host an elegant meal in Schoone Oordt’s glass conservatory with windows leading out on to the lush gardens, feast on Malay spiced King Klip, pork loin or beef fillet, the choice is yours and the options are endless. The 10 luxurious guest rooms can accommodate a total of 20 adults in king-size and twin beds. The six luxury rooms each with their own patio area are positioned around a fragrant rose garden with water fountain, they provide the perfect set up for a friend group to stay in. The Family Cottage is a restored Coach House boasting a loft area for the children and small kitchenette. The Honeymoon Suite is a must for the bridal couple, tucked away on the edge of a small forest with the Koornlands River running by and adorned with a large heath to warm the winter nights, carved four-poster bed and oversize bathroom with under floor heating. All rooms have a Victorian feel but remain uncluttered with luxurious touches.

This beautifully restored Country House offers beautiful gardens and a salt water swimming pool around which to relax with friends and family. There's a host of places to explore and activities awaiting in the surrounding area, with Robertson Wine Valley approximately 40 minutes drive away and the beaches of De Hoop Nature Reserve a little further but worth the day trip especially if its whale spotting season.
