"Beach chic meets rustic charm, the private villas of Karma Jimbaran cascade down gentle Balinese slopes overlooking the Indian Ocean."
Karma Jimbaran is elegantly positioned on Bali’s sought after southern peninsula, a touch of class dropped into a hive of traditional activity. Jimbaran Bay, home to Bali’s famous Kedonganan fishing village, is a wonderful place to watch the native fishing boats bring home their daily catch; early risers can even visit the market to choose their dinner. With rice paddies, a volcano and coffee plantations close by - not to mention the outstanding beauty of a sunset on the bay’s alluring white sands - Karma Jimbaran is the perfect location for a wedding of vibrant class.
Cascading down gentle Balinese slopes the resort flows fluidly into the bay and its cool waters; beach chic meets rustic charm as villas are thatched with native alang alang elephant grass and have a classically contemporary Indonesian aura. This is a wedding venue and a fairytale combined as each pool villa is hidden by winding paths and exotic flora to create a secret hideaway of flawless tranquillity.
The resort’s fertile tropical gardens could be the perfect place for you to share your vows and offer the sweet incense of frangipani to enliven your senses. Perhaps you would prefer to share your ceremony with the crashing waves on your own private segment of the warm white sands? Whichever you choose, the resort boasts exquisite service matched only by the views.
Unashamedly opulent, the resort’s Grand Residence is a luxurious four story villa with a private pool emerging from its flourishing gardens; an idyllic choice for couples who desire intimate evening celebrations. Also available is Karma’s signature restaurant ‘Karma Lounge’, a more formal choice, chefs here will delight your guests with their small plate concept – a charming way to unite your families - and Asian Pacific gastronomy. As day spills into night your party can drift onto the beach as you toast your happiness gazing into the sunset.
At Karma Jimbaran you can laze by the pool in a bubble of seclusion; enjoy your generously equipped villa and soak up the archipelago’s atmosphere with no need to explore further than the mini-bar. Guests who do wish to discover more of Bali may be tempted to one of the bay’s lively beach seafood restaurants, famous for their spectacular sunset views and invigorated by rolling waves, live music and traditional Balinese entertainment. Choose Karma Jimbaran for a wedding which blends culture and class impeccably.
Bali’s tropical climate means average temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius year round. April to October is the dry season and arguably the best time to visit in terms of weather; these months see less rain, lower humidity and gentle breezes in the evening. June to August are Bali’s peak months in terms of tourist arrivals and weather, bringing traditionally the lowest rainfall and the warmest weather. November to March is labeled as the rainy season with the wettest months usually experienced during December and January. During these months, the weather is still hot but humidity can be very high.
Many couples who decide to hold their wedding ceremony in Bali actually undertake their legal wedding in their home country in order to avoid the more complicated paperwork and extra work associated with arranging a legal marriage in Bali. The ceremony they have in Bali will instead by a non-legally binding blessing.
However it is possible to legally wed in Bali which will involve holding both the religious and civil ceremonies on the same day (however civil registry officials can be performed directly at the religious ceremony for an additional fee). Amongst the various conditions under the Republic of Indonesia's marriage laws the couple must hold the same religion and faiths that are recognised are Islamic, Hindu, Buddhist, Christian-Protestant and Christian-Catholic.
A Notice of Intention to Marry has to be submitted with documents such as certificate of religious marriage, passport, birth certificate, four 4x6cm photos, certified divorce decree, letter of no impediment to marriage issued by your consular representative for Bali or Indonesia.
We always recommend hiring the services of a reputable local wedding company to assist with any legal documents to ensure no issues arise on the day.
