Bali’s tropical climate means average temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius year round. April to October is the dry season and arguably the best time to visit in terms of weather; these months see less rain, lower humidity and gentle breezes in the evening. June to August are Bali’s peak months in terms of tourist arrivals and weather, bringing traditionally the lowest rainfall and the warmest weather. November to March is labeled as the rainy season with the wettest months usually experienced during December and January. During these months, the weather is still hot but humidity can be very high.
Alila Villas Soori has an in-house events planner to cater to a maximum of 100 guests. For larger groups the resort recommends using a local events planner and is happy to offer details of the co-ordinators they have worked well with in the past.
As well as civil ceremonies, renewal of vows and blessings, the resort also accepts Christian, Buddhist, Hindu and Muslim ceremonies.
For church ceremonies, Mary Immaculate Church is located in Tabanan village approximately 30 minutes drive from the resort.
Many couples who decide to hold their wedding ceremony in Bali actually undertake their legal wedding in their home country in order to avoid the more complicated paperwork and extra work associated with arranging a legal marriage in Bali. The ceremony they have in Bali will instead by a non-legally binding blessing.
However it is possible to legally wed in Bali which will involve holding both the religious and civil ceremonies on the same day (however civil registry officials can be performed directly at the religious ceremony for an additional fee). Amongst the various conditions under the Republic of Indonesia's marriage laws the couple must hold the same religion and faiths that are recognised are Islamic, Hindu, Buddhist, Christian-Protestant and Christian-Catholic.
A Notice of Intention to Marry has to be submitted with documents such as certificate of religious marriage, passport, birth certificate, four 4x6cm photos, certified divorce decree, letter of no impediment to marriage issued by your consular representative for Bali or Indonesia.
We always recommend hiring the services of a reputable local wedding company to assist with any legal documents to ensure no issues arise on the day.
