In comparison with many other countries, it is relatively straight forward to arrange the paperwork for a legally binding marriage in New Zealand. The usual formalities such as Decree Absolute are needed and you are not able to marry blood relations. The couple is required to submit a Notice of Intended Marriage form to the government office and sign a statutory declaration notice in the presence of a government agency when in New Zealand in order to get your marriage license (at least 3 days before the wedding). For specifics please check with your countries own embassy and further information can be found on: www.nzembassy.com
