Nestled amongst the mountainous beauty of central Bali, The Viceroy offers an un-commercialised aspect of Balinese culture. Sitting on its throne atop the Valley of the Kings, the estate’s crowning glory is the captivating view, once favoured by royalty. Unspoilt beauty is in abundance with rice paddies, hidden temples and coffee plantations. If you prefer a livelier atmosphere the nearby cultural hub of Ubud, with its plethora of shops and restaurants offers a tropical Indonesian vibrancy and a showcase of local art and crafts.
Exotic allure is bountiful – think “I’m A Celebrity Keep Me In Here”, you can even arrive at the resort via helicopter. Traditionally Balinese, The Viceroy is embellished with local art to authenticate your celebrations and the stunning scenery will further enhance the splendour of your stay. The rousing view of the Petanu River gorge won’t be the only thing to sate your appetite as chefs in the CasCades Restaurant impress with a fusion of modern French and glamorous Asian cuisine. If casual chic is more your style, why not mingle with your guests whilst enjoying a plentiful buffet, fit for the view of the valley? With the Viceroy Bar on hand to mix your favourite cocktail and an impressive wine cellar your evening can’t fail to impress.

Bali’s tropical climate means average temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius year round. April to October is the dry season and arguably the best time to visit in terms of weather; these months see less rain, lower humidity and gentle breezes in the evening. June to August are Bali’s peak months in terms of tourist arrivals and weather, bringing traditionally the lowest rainfall and the warmest weather. November to March is labeled as the rainy season with the wettest months usually experienced during December and January. During these months, the weather is still hot but humidity can be very high.
A range of wedding services can be conducted at the resort; these include civil ceremonies including same-sex couples, renewal of vows, non-religious blessings based on Christian and Hindu religions.
The team at the Viceroy Bali are well versed in wedding planning and will arrange all aspects down to the finest detail.
Many couples who decide to hold their wedding ceremony in Bali actually undertake their legal wedding in their home country in order to avoid the more complicated paperwork and extra work associated with arranging a legal marriage in Bali. The ceremony they have in Bali will instead by a non-legally binding blessing.
However it is possible to legally wed in Bali which will involve holding both the religious and civil ceremonies on the same day (however civil registry officials can be performed directly at the religious ceremony for an additional fee). Amongst the various conditions under the Republic of Indonesia's marriage laws the couple must hold the same religion and faiths that are recognised are Islamic, Hindu, Buddhist, Christian-Protestant and Christian-Catholic.
A Notice of Intention to Marry has to be submitted with documents such as certificate of religious marriage, passport, birth certificate, four 4x6cm photos, certified divorce decree, letter of no impediment to marriage issued by your consular representative for Bali or Indonesia.
We always recommend hiring the services of a reputable local wedding company to assist with any legal documents to ensure no issues arise on the day.
Wedding meals are held at the award-winning CasCades Restaurant with views across the tropical Petanu River gorge. Offering a contemporary French menu with exotic Asian influences in a fine dining setting.
The Viceroy Bali is very much a tranquil couples resort and therefore if not hiring the resort exclusively then any music has to finish at 10pm in order to respect the other guests. The resorts bar offers a wide range of cocktails and whiskies and as with CasCades Restaurant it also offers beautiful views across the verdant countryside and valley...the perfect place to relax with your loved one and friends.
Relax and enjoy the peaceful setting of the Viceroy Bali and its friendly service. We highly recommend a visit to the Lembah Spa with its trained therapists and beautiful valley views or for something more exhilarating take a Bali island tour by helicopter setting off from the resort's very own helipad. The resort's gardens reflect the tranquil side of Bali, with a large infinity edge swimming pool with swim up bar and plenty of comfortable sunbeds and Bale's to relax on.
